Hair SOS! Joico's K-Pak Reconstruct to the Rescue

I have a long bond with Joico. Seven years ago, in the summer before I moved here I had hair extensions put in. Maybe not the most logical thing to do seeing as I was going on a sailing trip on the coast of South Sweden and extensions require upkeep. I also should have been saving up my pennies for my impending move but it was what I wanted and I didn't regret it then and I'm happy about the experience now too. The holiday was magnificent as well, Sweden is such a beautiful piece of the world!

To make a long story short, I was introduced to Joico as a result of the hair extensions because I needed special shampoo for them so that the extensions wouldn't get loose. My memory fails me but I'm pretty sure that I needed a shampoo without citrus oils in them and this is what was recommended. I still remember the first time I used Joico's iconic K-Pak Reconstruct shampoo & conditioner and thought the scent was so beautiful.
My hair also loved the moisture infused by the innovative formulas which contains bio-advanced peptide and quadramine. The Quadramine Complex is exclusive to Joico and it reduces the damage of amino acids in the hair's protein and rebuilds it to its former glory. Over the years I have been using Joico's K-Pak Reconstruct on and off and I've always been happy with the result. All these memories of extensions and holidays and all that jazz came back to me a month ago when I was kindly sent a set of Joico K-Pak S&C by Buy Haircare Direct. They say that a whiff of fragrance can bring you back to a moment in time, and I think the same can be said for a special shampoo scent.

My latest Hair SOS is due to me not using treatments on my hair (with the exception of the glorious MoroccanOil) and I am also way overdue for a hair cut. I keep meaning to make an appointment with my hairdresser but inevitably something gets in the way. Now that I've confessed to my hair neglect, I promise I'll make time for a hair cut this week, this just can't go on. Healthy locks is something that is very important to me but a lot of treatments require you to soak it in for fifteen minutes, and who has that kind of time in winter when the bathroom is so cold? Not me, that's for sure. I therefore have decided to buy the Goldwell Dualsenses Color Extra Rich 60Sec Treatment from BHD because it only needs to be in for a minute, it is described to be like chocolate and I am planning on colouring my hair soon.

I will let you know how it goes!

What has been an iconic Shampoo in your life? Do you buy your haircare online, in store or from your hair dresser? I do a mix of all three...

This product was kindly gifted to me by Buy Haircare Direct. It has not affected my opinion as I've bought double digits of Joico in the past. If you want to squizz at my Disclosure Policy, click here.

  1. I've never used Joico but always hear good things. Sadly (in the blogger sense) I've found my HG shampoo and conditioner, so I'll probably never try another kind again... ha ha x

  2. I've been using L'Oreal's Mythic Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (which literally ran out last night!). I found that the effect that it had on my hair.. that soft, silky feeling haha...wasn't as effective towards the end. I've purchased the Kerastase Nutritive range and hopefully I like it! xx

    1. Cool! Mythic Oil sounds divine, although there must be a reason why it didn't last...

You have to let me know how you find the Kerastase Nutritive range xxx
