My AM Skin Care Routine

My morning skin care routine is pretty simple and it works a treat. I like using the Neutrogena Naturals fresh cleansing + makeup remover in the shower and it's a beautiful cleanser with Peruvian Tara Seed as a main ingredient and it is rich in Vitamin B and C. It's also a fantastic makeup remover but that's a story for another post. It smells really nice and the consistency is almost like shampoo in the sense that it's creamy but still a little foamy. My skin loves it and it's derived from 86% natural ingredients.

I also alternate the Neutrogena cleanser with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser which I bought in London before Christmas. It's great for those mornings when I have a little extra time and it's super creamy. When combined with a muslin cloth it's almost like a mini-facial. It has ingredients like cocoa butter, chamomille extracts and eucalyptus essential oil and it's a great combination.
On other mornings when I need a bit of an exfoliation I do one of two things. I either use my Clarisonic Mia for a minute to give my skin a thorough cleanse (it works great with the Neutrogena Naturals cleanser)...
Or I actually exfoliate with the purifying pore scrub from Neutrogena Naturals. It is a very gentle exfoliator that has Willow Bark as a main ingredient. Willow Bark is a natural source of salicylic acid and the scrub also has moisturising Jojoba Beads in it and it's a great combination. The scrub is derived from 94% natural ingredients.
After cleansing/exfoliating I apply my Dermalogica multivitamin power firm eye cream and an SPF 30+ sunscreen on my face. I have been using the Neutrogena Healthy Defence sunscreen lately and I really like it but I am now trialling the Ultraceuticals Hydrating Ultra Protective Daily Moisturiser 30+ which offers more moisture for my skin.
On days when I feel like I need a little hydration boost I apply the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser which is really light and it does even out skin texture. I also love the pump bottle of course, it's all about convenience. I also like to add a little rosehip oil from time to time and the Trilogy rosehip oil antioxidant + is an absolute beauty. It is good quality rosehip oil with added antioxidants and I love it. I also use it as a lip/under eye treatment when I need a boost of moisture.
These are the products that work well for me in the morning and they leave my face feeling hydrated all day long. Lots of water and some green smoothies also helps of course. I also like having regular facials and I had another Ella Bache facial yesterday and it was beautiful. They could also fit me in at ten minutes notice which is excellent service (and timing).

What is your AM skin care routine like?

  3. I use St. Ives blemish control scrub as well www.realauravie.com and I love it! Green tea is simply amazing and it helps control breakouts without over-drying the skin.
