Bobbi Brown's Cool Lilac Long-Wear Eye Collection

I've had the Cool Lilac Eye Kit from Bobbi Brown since Christmas (it was another duty-free splurge) and I really like it! I can't remember how much I paid for it (travel-brain) but I'm pretty sure it was around 40 pounds which equates to about $58 which is great value.
The Kit comes with a duel-ended Cream Eye Shadow/Eyeliner Brush, the Soothing Cleansing Oil, a Long Wear Eyeliner and a Long-Wear Cream Shadow. I know that the Soothing Cleansing Oil is a love-it or leave-it kind of oil but I love it and so does my skin. It's great for removing makeup and perfect for travel because it has a top-cap that doesn't let the oil come out through the pump.
The Eyeliner shade is an almost black Caviar Ink (27). Bobbi Brown describes it as a deep black brown shade. The Eye Shadow is Cool Lilac (38) and it's a pink cool lilac shade. One great advantage to Bobbi Brown's eye shadows is that they can be applied either dry or wet depending on the colour intensity/longevity desired. The Dual-Ended Brush is sensational and I already have one of them in my Bobbi Brown Ultra Nude Palette.
The Eyeliner has great staying power and whilst I've sometimes had a transfer of the eyeliner to underneath my brow with other eyeliners (yes I looked like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family) this never happens with my Bobbi Eyeliner. Sometimes it pays to go for a premium brand. I also really like the shimmer in the Cool Lilac Eye Shadow and it is flattering for any eye colour. I usually layer it on top of an eye primer or I set it with a finishing powder to ensure that it lasts all day.
I was also given a "Lonely Makeup Bag" which is meant to be sad and lonely since the makeup is so good that you won't need to touch it up. I plan to test it this weekend at my boyfriend's sister's hens night. Lonely Makeup Bag's googly eyes make me laugh, that's for sure! I was also given a couple of mascara and serum samples from the sales assistant too. Love good service!
I used to be a big YSL Touche Eclat fan and I can't remember why I stopped using it but I am back in a big way. My preferred shade is number 2 (Luminous Ivory) which is a little bit more yellow in tone which counteracts my dark circles much better than the pink tone number 1 has. There are plenty of shades to choose from so I would recommend going to the counter for assistance. I know that you can buy the Touche Eclat cheaper on sites like Strawberrynet.com but I'd rather buy it from an authorised retailer so that I know that the product batch is fresh and that I am getting the real thing and not a dupe. After having seen the amount of MAC and Dior makeup copied and for sale on the streets of Bangkok for the great sum of $5 or less, I decided to go for 100 % legitimate sellers and rather pay a little more.

I got the Touche Eclat from Myer and it came in a pack with a sample of the YSL Shocking Mascara and it is hands down the best mascara I've ever tried. It's almost like I wish I hadn't tried it because it's that good and I want to get my hands on a full-sized one but the $52 price tag is hard to swallow. It truly gives a great false lash effect and the brush is divine. No drizzling is another bonus and it's easy to remove at night. Tick, tick, tick. I was also given a few samples of the YSL Glossy Stain colours, a serum, a perfume and a makeup remover.
Now that my rant is over I can show you how the finished product looks. I used Brows a-go-go from Benefit to keep my brows in check, the little I have left of the Bare Minerals foundation in Fairly Light on my mug and Luster from NARS - my favourite kind of blush/bronzer. My hair was an after-thought too, I just applied a little Moroccanoil whilst it dried and then added a little more Morroccanoil after it had dried to keep my locks in check.
I kept my lips very neutral but shiny with the help of Benefit's Sugarbomb Gloss which I still adore. It's such a great colour and great for those days when you don't have a lot of time or for when your eyes are the focus.
Here is a close-up of the Cool Lilac Eye Shadow, Caviar Ink Eyeliner and the Shocking Mascara.
What I really like about this combination is that it doesn't take long to do, looks good and stays on for the whole day. What more can you need?

Are you a duty-free shopper like me? What's your favourite product at the moment?
