Her Fashion Box - Updated!

There is a new monthly beauty box on the scene and the prospect is exciting. As much as I got a little bored with the old beauty boxes (I still haven't finished half of the samples I received), the new box is a little different. Her Fashion Box is a box with a mix of beauty and fashion and you have a choice of three subscription options; Trendy, Classic and Feminine.
I went with the feminine box because the description suited me best and I found the trendy option a little too trendy. I am still pondering whether the classic box would suit me best but I am happy with my choice for now. The price per month was originally $49.95 but it has been reduced to $39.95 which is great. I did receive a half-price offer on the first box but to be quite honest, I would have been more than happy to pay full price for the box.
On Monday afternoon I realised that I had forgotten my keys at home in the morning but thankfully my boyfriend was only ten minutes away so I wouldn't have to wait long. My day went from good to great when I realised that the first Her Fashion Box was waiting outside my door and whilst I waited for my man I started opening the box. The Her Fashion Box is a great box for storage and I have already decided to use it to store my bracelets and bangles.
What impressed me was the little Fashion Magazine that came with the box. I am used to a little card so the magazine was a pleasant surprise for a mag-addict like me. It's got some gorgeous outfits inside paired to the classic, trendy and feminine options and there are also detailed descriptions of the accessories and beauty items that came with the box.
The first items was a new haircare range from Redken called Diamond Oil for stronger and shinier hair. It's just what my hair needs at the moment. The shampoo and conditioner sample was 30 mls and the treatment is 50 mls. The full size products costs $22.95 for the shampoo and the conditioner and the treatment is $35.50. As usual I will let you know how my hair finds the Redken goodies. I also received the new High Shine Lip Gloss from Maybelline New York and out of the ten shades available, I got Glisten Up Pink which seems quite glittery and a potentially frosty pink. The gloss retails for $15.95.
I am a big believer in makeup brushes (I always find a need for a new one) and I am very intrigued by the Eyeshadow Brush from Master Makeup by Dean Nixon that was included in the box. The bristles are so soft and will make blending a breeze. I must confess that I hadn't heard of Dean's range before but I am glad I have now. The brush is absolutely gorgeous and has a value of $30. There was also a discount code of 20% included for other brushes from his collection and I must say, it is very tempting.
I am now also going to have a cute ponytail thanks to the bow hair-tie that was included. I really like it and it will look so good on a messy top bun or in a high pony. I also received a Circa Home Lilac & Orchid soap ($9.95) and a Moxie collection ($4.47) which always comes in handy. The Lilac & Orchid soap containts gorgeous ingredients like Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter. It's also free from parabens, sulphates and mineral oils. It smells so good and I love the sailboat packaging. Regular readers will also know that purple is my favourite colour so I was always going to like the design.
My favourite item in the box was this gorgeous collar necklace. It is so cute and I know it's going to look great with a simple singlet but also with a nice dress.
Naturally, I had to put it to the test the next day along with my bright and cheery Tigerlily dress. I also liked that the necklace came in a soft black drawstring bag and it's slotted right into my jewellery drawer.
I really liked my first Her Fashion Box and thought it had a really good value for money. I think the attention to detail is also great in terms of the magazine, the bag for the necklace and the quality of products. I also like that many of the products were full-size so the feeling of value increased.

Thanks to the lovely ladies over at Her Fashion Box, you can get a 50% discount on your first box when you sign up. All you need to do is use the code INGLOSSYBEAUTY in the Coupon Code Field. Just remember that the code is only valid on your first box. Enjoy!

  1. I really loved the box too. The necklace you received is gorgeous. It suits you so well :)

I love the brush too. I'm thinking of ordering the blending brush.

I really adore the magazine. It's such a great idea and really makes them stand out from BB and LHI.

Will you be getting any more of the boxes?

  2. That necklace looks gorgeous on you, Ingy.

I like the box, but I'm just not certain I'm convinced that it's worth $40!

The problem with such a steep amount for a mystery box is you might get a box full of products that don't suit you, so while they might be worth a lot, it's pointless if you can't use them!

Guess time will tell. :) And you're very right, it makes better financial sense to sign up for a subscription!

Are you subscribed to the 3 month sub?
