The Matchy Matchy Dress and Lips

Yesterday I posted about my new haircut and today I want to share with you what I wore to my the amazing engagement party I went to on Saturday for my boyfriend's sister and her partner. I wasn't sure what to wear but I found the dress of my dreams on Friday afternoon before a cinema trip to see Twilight. Whilst I am not a full on Twi-hard, I have to say I enjoyed the movie very much and the popcorn I bought was delicious. 10 minutes before the screening I went into a store next door and looked for a dress. Of course it was the last dress I looked at, and the only dress I tried on, that would be the right pick. I love a good print and what is more appropriate than lots of hot lips? The skirt part even has a little tutu underneath. Perfection for $55 which was just meant to be.
I matched my dress with a bracelet from Forever New and a feather dream catchery necklace from Equip. They have the same light shade of gold and slightly mismatched pinks.
Getting the lip shade right was very important to me and I started by moisturising my lips with the Golden Ointment from Lanolips. I then painted on the Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm from Revlon in the shade Passion. On top I added the hot pink Forever Berry Super Stay 10 hours Tint Gloss from Maybelline.
The heart shaped swatch has Maybelline in the middle and Revlon on the outside. Strong colours that compliment eachother.
I like the idea of layering stains and glosses for added longevity. By the end of the evening Maybelline had worn off, although it had promised me 10 hours of gloss. Thankfully, Just Bitten was going strong and my lips didn't have to be touched up too much.

Do you like layering lippys? Have you seen Twilight yet?

Xx I

  2. You look amazing! Love the dress! I do layer lip products from time to time but often I just get lazy. :)

One thing though, hun, that Revlon product is actually the older balm/stain that came out a while ago, I think it's been out for a couple of years. The new one is called the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and it's this one (http://www.priceline.com.au/index.php/sitemap-import/cosmetics/lips/lip-glossstain/just-bitten-kissableand153-balm-stain-2.7-g). I currently own four but bought my first off ebay a few months ago, they are fantastic, very smooth and pigmented!
