Hot Lips Week: Ella Bache Lipsaver 30+ in Pomegranate, Mocha and Melon

This week it will be all about the lips and I have lots of lip products to share with you! Considering I used to bring lip gloss as a lucky charm to exams (it worked), I have a lot of experience glosses, lip sticks, lip balms and more. Don't even get me started on the lip smackers chapsticks which I am sure I wasn't the only one to be enamoured with in primary school. Ah the tingly sensation and delicious smell of the strawberry flavour. I have seen them in Priceline now with Coke, Fanta and Sprite flavours but I just don't think I could go back. I prefer to hang onto the memories.

As much as I'd like to forget it, Christmas is getting very close. It's not that I'm not looking forward to it, the issue is more that of the little time I have to get everything organised and sorted. In less than five weeks I will be on a plane to Norway (hurray) but I also have a few work trips and parties to go to beforehand too. I'm sure it will all work out eventually. Just in time for the festive season though, Ella Bache has released some gorgeous gift packs with Skindulgence (love the pun) being the key aspect. The three Lipsavers cost $29 in the pack when they usually would retail for $57 so it's a perfect little bargain. I am very vigilant about sun protection and especially on my lips because I have some freckles there and I don't want them to go forth and multiply.
This is a perfect gift for girlfriends and sisters because it comes gift wrapped and is just so cute. Ella Bache also does amazing facials and I went there for some Radiance Vitamin C fix on Friday and my skin adored the experience. Now I just want to shine as bright as that inevitable Christmas star.
The Lipsavers will last a long time because they are 15 mls each and I am now set for a sun protected lip summer. Got to love that!
As you can see from the swatches, Melon and Pomegranate are quite chunky whereas Mocha was a little more liquid.  I love the strength of the colours, they are simply berrylicious.
Melon is quite tangerine as you can see. I wouldn't expect anything less from my favourite fruit!
Whereas Pomegranate is simply pink perfection and it is my firm favourite already.
Mocha is a mix of red and orange and I would have preferred a slightly heavier coverage. I had to apply quite a bit to get the colour right.
In terms of longevity, these are frequent appliers because you want to keep the colour fresh also after you have been in the ocean for a dip. I even swam outside the flags today, totally living on the edge here. I also got a sand exfolation on my face and body thanks to the wind that kept blowing it on me. Just nature's way of sending a gentle reminder I think.

Do you like SPF on your lips? Are you a pun-fan like me?

Xx I

  1. I love the look of Pomegranate! I always have a basic SPF lip balm (Palmers 30+ lip balm is firm fave) in my beach bag - but if I want something prettier - I'm a massive fan of the tinted Lanolips - spesh Mulberry and Sunshine. My lips just adore the formula!

    1. Me too! I also love Lanolips but their glosses are SPF15 which is fine but I prefer SPF30 on the beach X

Thank you for leaving a comment.

You are putting a smile on my face!
