Hot Lips Week: Clinique Chubby Sticks in Mega Melon, Woppin' Watermelon and Super Strawberry

Today I've gone all chubby on you, and I must say I was thrilled to pick up these lip crayons in Auckland airport a few weeks ago. Since they were duty free I got the pack for $65 when usually one of these cost $35 so it was quite the bargain. I got three Clinique chubby sticks in the colours Mega Melon, Woppin' Watermelon and Super Strawberry. Red and pink perfection of course.
I do love that the chubbys come individually packed, and  the box is almost like a pencil case. Too cute!
The chubby sticks are gorgeously designed with glossy silver and they also won the Marie Claire beauty awards this year. Because shea butter is a core ingredient, they will leave your lips feeling nice and moisturised.
Here are the swatches of Mega Melon, Woppin' Watermelon and Super Strawberry.
All the chubbys are so easy to apply and they just glide on. I do wish that the colour of Mega Melon would be a little stronger because I wanted a punchy shade but it works more like an orangy nude. I think this layered under or over a gloss would be fab to enhance the colour. It would also work well as a lipliner under an orange lippy. I do love a multi purpose product!
I thought Woppin' Watermelon would be a bit more fuchsia but I am still happy with the coverage and the pigment of it. I am a big pink fan after all.
My favourite colour is Super Strawberry because it is slightly darker, more punchy and has better coverage. It is simply sensational and the one I know I will finish first.
The chubby sticks are also perfect for travelling because they will be fabulous as a light blush on the cheeks. The silver base works as a twist to push the stick up so that you won't run out quickly either. I certainly get what all the hype is about and I am thrilled to have the chubby stick pencil case as part of my repertoire.

Have you tried the chubby sticks before? Favourite shade? Did you see the solar eclipse this morning?

  2. I have a slight obsession with these and own five (I know, I know).

I have these three, plus fuller fig and ...one more I can't remember...I think it's richer raisin though.

They look gorgeous on you and I love how low key they are, and yet you can build them up a bit for more impact!

    Such a brilliant duty-free buy!
