The Polynesian Spa in Rotorua

I have had a couple of really busy weeks and I really needed a little break. I came to Rotorua on Tuesday and it has certainly been worth the trip. I have seen so many amazing things and I really look forward to sharing them with you. One thing that was on the top of my list was a visit to the Polynesian Spa. After getting slightly lost on my way there (I have a terrible sense of direction), I finally made it and saw a gorgeous fence on the way.
The weather was grey but I was thrilled at the prospect of some relaxation and a proper time out.
The Polynesian Spa is a World Top 10 Spa and I have to agree, it is certainly the best spa experience I have ever had. Everything was so nice and seamless. I went to reception, was greeted by a lovely attendant, had a quick consultation and was given a fluffy blue robe and led to the change rooms.
The spa is located by the lake and there are four shallow rock pools available in the Lake Spa. They were divine! The pools are 36, 38, 40 and 42 degrees Celcius and it was such a sensational experience. I moved my way up from 36, then 38 and 40. They were all so comfortable, relaxing and the alkalising water is so good for you. I could only handle the 42 pool for a few minutes, it was a little bit too hot for this Norwegian.
The view and the closeness of the New Zealand flora were both amazing and I could feel my whole body just relax and go with the flow. This really hit the spot.
After an hour in the thermal pools I had a shower and moved on to the lounge to wait for my spa treatment.
The decor, the vibe and every detail was just fantastic. My navy robe was so comfortable and I would have loved to have taken it with me.
After a relaxing ten minutes in the lounge waiting for my treatment it was time. Because I booked my treatment very last-minute, they only had time to do a 30 minute Revive Facial ($85 incl access to pools) and I savoured every moment. My therapist was so lovely and did a fantastic facial. I did not want it to end.
This was the view from my treatment room and it was almost a shame that I had to have my eyes closed for the facial. I don't think I could ever tire of this view. The weather had also improved and the grey clouds had made way for a blue sky.
After the facial I had some lovely herbal tea whilst reading a magazine. I then packed up and made a quick dash in the spa shop.
I couldn't resist picking up some of the organic Skin Deep products that had been used for my facial and I will tell you more about them later. They are full of good ingredients and I can't wait to use them.

What has been your favourite spa experience?

Xx I
