Tangle Teezer

I have very knotty hair and I usually dread brushing it after I've blowdried it or after using O&M's No Knot. I was therefore intrigued when I heard about the Tangle Teezer which is meant to untangle your hair with no pain. I swiftly bought one from ASOS where it retails for about $17 depending on the currency exchange. There were four colours to choose from and I couldn't resist Disco Purple. It has my name all over it. Now there are only two colours available, Black and Tangerine Scream. I ordered the Tangle Teezer on the 24th July and it arrived seven days later which is really quick. If you haven't used ASOS before, be aware because they offer free shipping and it will be hard to resist their massive selection of clothes, accessories and beauty stash. Don't say I didn't warn you...
Disco Purple certainly didn't dissapoint in terms of its colour, fabulously glossy and glittery. It is certainly one of the brightest hair brushes I currently own. The Tangle Teezer also sits perfectly in my hand, its design is just perfect.
"Tangle Teezer boasts a revolutionary teeth formation that delivers speedy and gentle results. Helps minimise hair breakage caused by mistreatment when detangling. Promotes healthy looking hair by noticeabley increasing shine, leaving it looking silky smooth after styling." Does it do what it promises to do? YES.

I had to get over my inital reservation to brush wet hair because it just doesn't seem right. After all, we've always been told not to do so. I initially just applied some O&M Frizzy Logic and left my hair in a bun to allow it do dry a little prior to brushing it with the Tangle Teezer. And when I brushed my hair I had no knots and it did not hurt. This is highly unusual because my hair is very knotty thanks to the two cowlicks that compete against each other at the crown of my head. I let my hair air dry and ended up with straight locks, hardly any frizz and it all just looked smooth. I have also used the Tangle Teezer on dry hair and it works really well too but I think it's prime role is as a detangler.
I am certainly converted. The amount of times before hair colouration where the hairdresser brushed my hair without conditioner in it and I was in pain, and all we would have needed was this handy device. It's just revolutionary.

Because it's Friday I have a music recommendation for you. By the Horns by Julia Stone is a breathtaking album with beautiful songs, a soothing voice and great lyrics. I've had it on repeat for a week.

How do you untangle your hair? Do you like Disco Purple as much as I do? How about Julia Stone?

Xx I

  2. I love my tangle teezer, got it about a month ago and I’ll never use another brush again! Its great for when I’ve just got out the shower as my hair gets really tangled then. I got mine from Hairtrade it seems to be the cheapest place you can get it at the moment. I wear I&K hair extensions too and its great on them x
