Double Dates

I am a big fan of going on double dates because they are generally really fun and it is a great way to spend some quality time together. A few weeks ago we went out for dinner with our friends to one of our favourite restaurants, the appropriately named Sauce Bar and Grill in Coogee.
There were Saucioskas, lots of laughs and the boys enjoyed lots of banter whilst the girls rolled their eyes so much they almost got stuck. It's just one of those happiness things that are so easy and beautiful at the same time.
I have a thing for onion rings and especially if they are accompanied by aioli. They are such a perfect combination.
Then there was the banoffee pie which is so good. You haven't lived until you have had a piece of banoffee. It starts with the pie crust, then a load of caramel, a layer of cold banana and finishes with lots of cream. Sprinkling of cinnamon or chocolate is definitely optional but does increase the goodness value. And may I just say that if your friend is a good one she will share this with you because sharing is caring.

A couple of days after this dinner date we actually went on another double date with the same fabulous couple. And where did we go? To a Thai massage place of course. We were able to book the four cubicles for a massage session at five o'clock on a Sunday night and it was the perfect way to end a fantastic weekend.

We may be naive, but for the next double date Y and I would like the boys to come with us to our local nail salon for a nice pedicure. So far we have not had much luck but we are still trying to convince our guys that pampered feet are a great thing to achieve.

Are you a fan of double dates? What do you like to do? Have you tried banoffee pie before?

Xx

  2. Yum, that banoffee pie looks amazing! I love double dates. They are so much fun and gives you a range of things to talk about. I tend to do the triple dates, with 3 couples! We all get on so well that it feels weird if a couple is left out!

    1. Yes this banoffee pie is certainly a winner. I agree, double (or triple) dates are fantastic provided you get along with everyone:) X

  3. Onion rings and banoffee pie...Yum!

I love double dates when I know the other couple well. I've been on a few 'getting to know each other' double dates and those can be a bit awkward and stressful, as it's like first date nerves times 2!

Oh I agree with you. How awkward! I can only imagine stilted conversation and paused silences. X

  5. I love double dates. I always had good experiences. Excluding one date where the guy I was dating decided to bring his brother along... That was weird!
