Was I in the wrong?

I recently went for a manicure + pedicure with my good friend Y, and we went to our usual local salon. I was wowed because they had gotten new chairs that did even better massages and the side-tables didn't fall over and spill my coffee everywhere like before. I chose the newly released lilac Care to Danse for my fingers and a minty green for my toes.
The bottle said it was Panda-Monium pink but it can't be right since it was green and when I googled swatches they were all pink. I am confused...
After two layers of Care to Danse I was really disappointed. It looked really sheer, I had days off and could wear any colour I wanted and yet, this was the result.

After pondering about it for a couple of minutes and feeling a little sad, I found the solution! I asked for the bottle and painted two more layers. I didn't want to create any more work or hardship for the lovely and talented ladies who work there but I might have offended them by doing it myself? I was really happy with the result though, after four layers it was the perfect lilac pink.
Perfectly minted toes. I never match my nails and toes anymore and I think I miss it. Will do it next time.

So tell me ladies, was I in the wrong to take the matters in my own hands? Do you match toes and fingers? Favourite colour?

Xx

  1. See, Care to Danse? Is my new favourite colour. I layer Pirouette Your Whistle (glitter) over the top. It is from the New York City Ballet collection so is supposed to be sheer and wafty and tulle like.

I don't think you were wrong. Weird about the minty pink toes though?!

  2. No I don't think you were in the wrong Ingrid. I mean, I'd be disappointed with that colour too. The therapist should have noted it was sheer and asked if you'd like another coat. x

  3. I think they should have done the extra coats for you. I know that most salons do two coats but it is very sheer and they should have noticed that from the two coats they put on you. It's a nice colour though!

    1. True, but I didn't want to be a pain and make them work extra. I'm happy with my technique so I was delighted to do it. I love the colour too:)

  4. I don't think you were in the wrong at all - in fact, you were within your rights to change it right there and then...there's no harm in asking anyway! That way you'll go back there - service is SO important! LOVE the minty green!

  5. I don't think you're in the wrong at all! That's fine, what you did, and you were perfectly polite about it!

Also, that's definitely the wrong shade as I have used the pink before and it's definitely not a green! That's so odd, maybe the sticker fell off and they affixed the wrong one on? But I must say that green shade looks gorgeous on your feet!
