My Kit Mineral Foundation has a broken lid, which just shows how much I love it. We have been around the world together twice. I have it in the shade Fair 01 which has a yellow tinge which evens out my naturally slightly red skintone. I use a Bare Escentuals kabuki brush with it.
My true love though is my Body Shop bronzer. We have been around the world together 3 times (not that anyone is counting) and I have almost finished it which is sad. I have it in the shade 01 and it's perfect for a naturally bronzed look. I apply it with my Body Shop Face & Body brush. I love big brushes because you don't need to take special care with your application.
Sadly, due to my love of the bronzer, my Body Shop blush has been neglected but I am planning on changing this. It is such a gorgeous colour and it needs to be used more. The shade is 03 warm copper and it is absolutely delightful. I have a matching kabuki brush for this from Body Shop.
Some new additions to my mineral makeup include SHE's Pure Mineral Pressed Foundation which I use with my Models Prefer sponge.
Then there is the fabulous Vani-T Mineral Diamond Dust which gives me the glow no matter how little I've slept. A ratty old Benefit brush is used to complete the illusion of high cheekbones.
So there you have it, the five mineral loves in my life.
Do you have a mineral makeup love? Do you prefer mineral products?
Xx

I don't know why but I'm so hesitant to try mineral pressed powder. I really like loose powder because I find it so easy to blend it!
ReplyDeleteMineral foundation is amazeballz!
Amazaballz indeed. Could it be because you think it may be too obvious? I was hesitant too but have had great experiences with it:)
DeleteOooh, I've been wanting to try the Body SHop blush for ages!
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely delightful although I feel guilty for neglecting it so long...:) X
DeleteI've never actually tried mineral foundation. I've always been scared it will make my dry skin look worse!
ReplyDeleteI can have dry skin too but it's never been a problem. I mainly apply it on my cheeks and chin so at least my nose never looks dry. Just ask at a counter to try it, it would be in their best interest for you to look good X
DeleteI have a favourite its called bellapierre its amazing and I used it religiously until they only started selling online for $80 :( help me find a new one ingyy. Ps its kat haha x
ReplyDeleteHilair. Let me know how you go with Estee Lauder. Well done for creating a log on, plaza point for you Xx
DeleteMy face just sucks up any mineral make-up...what does this mean? I have used the Natio brand. I like that if feels light and not cakey, but it's only short-term on my face. x
ReplyDeleteWell at least it's mineral so your skin gets good stuff into it:) I would use a primer as a barrier in between the face and the makeup just like Kimba suggested. X
DeleteYou probably need a primer underneath it. You can pop a liquid primer on and wait a few minutes before applying your mineral powder makeup. You can get powder primers - MAC sell one - but I'm not a huge fan. Also, you may need to apply a setting powder over the top (otherwise known as a mineral veil). My favourite is Ready Set Go by Australis, which is currently on sale in a pack with a mini kabuki brush for $12.95. (Cannot vouch for the brush as I've not used it).
ReplyDeleteI use a primer, then a tinted moisturiser and use my mineral powder for extra coverage where I need it. I like id Bare Minerals, available from Kit. I think it's better than the other ones I've tried - Bobbi Brown, BECCA Boudoir compact, Maybelline. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.
Ingrid, did you ever get yourself a plastic container for your broken powder?!
Excellent advice as always Kim-Marie...:) Didn't get a container yet but it is on my list lovely X
