Lipstick Etiquette & My Lippy Collection

When you wear bright and colourful lipstick, it's a good idea to remember good lipstick etiquette. Even though I always blot with a tissue after applying my lippie, I know marks can be left behind so I try to drink out of disposable cups or if it is a water or wine glass at home, it goes straight in the dishwasher. If I'm having vinos with friends, I just use the same glass (after a light rinse) if we do the switch from white to red.

I also carry a handbag sized mirror with me everywhere to check for damage and for sneaky re-applications in the bathroom when I am out and about. I also have honest friends who will let me know if I have broccoli in my teeth, faded lipstick or runny mascara. This is nice because there is nothing worse than having a pen stain on your face (it happens) and no one comments on it until you see it in the mirror.
And here is the reason I have been passing 30 Days of lippy with flying colours. I store my lip products in the lid of an old Glossybox and it's perfect because they are all in one place and I can pick up my colour of the day very easily. I plan on organising this by colour and label one day and it will be even more fabulous then.
Can you spot one of your favourite lippys or two? Do you have any lipstick etiquette tips?

Xx

  1. That is one very impressive collection :)

I find it impossible to prevent the lipstick stains on coffee cups, wine glasses etc. I don't mind it though, it's kind of like leaving your mark throughout the day!

  2. I really quite like annoying my boyfriend and leaving bright lipstick stains on his face when I wear lipstick.
He hates it but I find it so amusing... especially when he hasn't noticed and someone else tells him!

  3. I read somewhere that if you lick the glass (where you would put your lips) your lipstick won't stick. I try it all the time but it doesn't seem to work for me. Although I do actually wear stains more so this could be why.. :)

  4. I think you and I just may have a problem. :P

I love your collection and it would've made your 30 day challenge so very easy! I was working on something similar a few weeks ago but somehow I got distracted. :P

I too, find that I leave my lipstick all over the place! I do hate when I sip from a cardboard cup and it leaves a lipstick smear all over the lid, but such is the price we pay for beauty! :O

Ps- I totally laughed out loud at MissV's comment above!

  7. Great collection! I was just eyeing up some of the acrylic cosmetic holders in Priceline and they seem perfect for actually getting my own lipstick collection out! Its really funny as I have a childhood memory or my Mothers coffee mugs always having her mark on them and now when it happens to me, I feel a little grown up!
