Hot Lips: Vani-T Mineral Lip Colour

In my quest for hot lips, I was excited to try Vani-T's Mineral Lip Colours. I have had positive experiences with Vani-T before (click here + here) and I was sure I was in for a treat. As usual, the packaging is LUXE. The Lip Colours are infused with Coconut Oil and Aloe Extract to ensure your lips stay hydrated throughout the day.
I tried Frisky Business and Vamp. The other colours in the collection are Angel, Enchantress, La Femme, Scandal, Undress, Cupcake, French Kiss, Gossip, Peek A Boo and Screen Siren. Such old style Hollywood names, I love it. The Vani-T Mineral Lip Colours are $32.95 each and there is a colour to suit any skintone.
Hello bling bling packaging! Can you handle it? The only slight request I would make was if the jewels were actual mirrors which would turn them into portable disco balls. Surely this isn't too much to ask?
Frisky Business is the lightest of the collection and Vamp is the darkest. Opposite ends of the spectrum.

The swatches reveal a nice and creamy finish with great coverage.
Frisky Business has turned into my go-to daily shade. I pair it with a slathering of bronzer and beachy waves.
Vamp is my new going out shade. It's the perfect colour to take you from office to party. My boyfriend has an extreme aversion to lipsticks and even he gave this a tick of approval. The fact that purple is my favourite colour doesn't hurt either.
And for the 30 days of lippy challenge I had to do a two-tone lip and I was duly informed by Rosemary from Lashes and Lattes that I was onto something good.
I put Vamp to the test on Sunday afternoon for a delightful Sunday lunch at our local pub. This place serves alcohol in plastic glasses, even during the day which kind of makes you feel like you are at a child's birthday party.
I can't complain about the wine list though. Both All Hallows Eve and Baby Doll were delicious. I need a wine trip to Marlborough. I didn't have to re-apply Vamp after the pub (and a two course meal) because the colour was still strong and by the late evening it looked like a beautiful berry stain.
I put Frisky Business to work at work. Some residue was left on the coffee cup but I didn't have to re-apply until after lunch. I was most pleased. I do a lot of talking and smiling in my job (+ occasional paper plane building) and Frisky Business passed with flying colours.
Do you like mineral lip colours? Is packaging a factor in your purchasing decision?

If you have the time, may I also suggest you jump over to Lisa's blog Blushing for Couture where she has reviewed Frisky Business too.

Have a very happy Tuesday xx

  2. Lovely to see you wearing Frisky Business! I adore it and, same as you, it is my go-to day wear colour.

Vamp is really interesting. It looks really dark in the tube, but is a gorgeous and completely non-goth berry colour.

Great review, as always, thanks for the shout out :)
