Review: Vani-T Mineral Diamond Dust

I am a girl who likes her sparkle. This can be evidenced by my love of glitter (one of my first jobs was in an accessories store called Glitter), my jewellery collection and those newly acquired sequinned boots. I was therefore really excited to see the brand Vani-T release their Mineral Diamond Dust. As a long-time illuminator fan, I was intrigued to try one in a powder form for the first time.

There is no doubt Vani-T knows the value of fabulous packaging. The Mineral Diamond Dust comes in a square silver box of joy. The sides are so shiny you can use it as a mirror for when you are in need.
Then there is the disco-strip along the sides. Absolutely fabulous!
There are two shades of Mineral Diamond Dust available; Moon & Stars and Sun. My Sun had leaked a little but never fear, it was easy to mop it up with a brush.
It may be hard to believe but the packaging is recyclable and eco-friendly ingredients are used. Vani-T does not test on animals either so it's a win-win for the environment.
The gorgeous dust was hiding under the plastic cover.
The brush I chose to use was an old Benefit powder one. I like the angled shape and that it allows me to layer and contour my cheeks.
I was worried that my face would look like a year 8 disco because of the light-reflecting pigments and the sparkle so I initially didn't apply much. Here are swatches in natural and sunny light.
I ended up layering the Mineral Diamond Dust three times in order to get the best result because I was so initially cautious. The illumination is absolutely stunning and the mother of pearl really reflects on your skin and gives it that healthy skin glow we all want. For an illuminating effect on your body you can mix the Diamond Dust in your moisturiser to make your arms and decolletage shine even more. Here are the results in natural and sunny light. I am wearing Candy Apple on my lips and no mascara, just concealer. I don't even use bronzer at the moment because the Mineral Diamond Dust has taken over the prime spot in my beauty space.
My concern of looking too sparkly was unfounded and I really liked how my non-existent cheekbones got a much needed boost from Vani-T.
The Mineral Diamond Dust was developed in Australia and made in Taiwain. Ingredients include mica, zinc oxide, tin oxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxides and ultramarines and it has an expiry date of 24 months from opening. The RRP of the Mineral Diamond Dust is $51.45 and I like that I can use this for 2 years because when we end up talking cost per wear, it is actually really reasonable.

What is your favourite illuminator? Have you used Vani-T before? Do you like sparkle?

Xx Ingrid
