New Purchase: Clarisonic Mia

When I first heard about the Clarisonic Mia, I thought I didn't need it. This mentality changed a couple of weeks ago when I was just disillutioned with my pores around my nose. They were letting me down and I had heard the Clarisonic would fix it. They also promise that the Clarisonic (I used to call it a Clarasonic but that's just me) cleanses 6 x better than a normal cleanse. All this in just a minute. Myer was also doing a gift with purchase promotion where you would receive a toiletry bag and a Clarisonic pore brush valued at over $30. The Mia was available in either pink or white and comes with a sensitive brush for us gals with sensitive skin. It retails for $149 and how could I justify such an expenditure? Well let me tell you, I had a rewards voucher from work and I also found a letter in my pigeon hole with a tip a guest left me. In the letter he had written Merry Xmas so I guess I should check my paperwork more often. After these deductions I ended up paying less than half price which is not bad at all. It is all justified in my parallel shopping economy.
I did think it was cruel that I had to charge Mia for 24 hours before I could use it. It was like I had a new toy but it couldn't be touched. After it has been charged it should be good for 20 uses at 1 minute each. Mia will switch off after 1 minute and you use it for 10 seconds each on the forehead, chin, nose and both cheeks in a circular motion.
It is much too soon to do a review but I will share with my first impressions with you. First of all, Mia tickles my nose. Apparently this will pass but it does make it hard to do a proper cleansing session there. I can also definitely feel that my skin is very clean after I have used it but I do also notice a little redness. I would also really like it if Mia came with a shower strap so I can hang it in the shower and it will make it easier to dry. I am thinking along the lines of the Nintendo Wii remotes. This may not be possible since it needs to be waterproof.
So far I am enjoying my twice a day Clarisonic experience. It has made cleansing fun again and I am looking forward to seeing if we can reduce those pesky pores.

Do you have the Clarisonic? Had you heard of it before?

Xx

  1. I saw the Myer offer on the weekend but had been waiting for a review to pop up before I tried it - and here is the first part of it! Please do another review when you can, I have sensitive skin and am way too nervous to try it myself.

    1. Hi Lisa, great to hear from you! I too was sceptical but there is actually a 30 day satisfaction guarantee so if it doesn't work you don't have to fully commit. It is working well on my sensitive skin although I do notice a slight redness in my chubby cheeks. I am also dreading the purging period but so far it hasn't happened:) I hope this helps. If not there will be a review in about 3 weeks X

  3. I got one for Xmas and loved it for two months- it made my skin feel super awesome! I then went to buy a replacement brush and seem to be only able to purchase one for forty dollars. I got frustrated online looking for a cheaper option than $40 and so now it sits in my drawer awaiting a new head. I might try Myer- I didn't realise they sold them. I'll be interested in your part two review x

  5. Great minds think alike! I'm going to do a post soon as I just ordered the Mia 2 a couple of weeks ago from the US (it's not available here yet) and still paid less than if I'd bought the Mia 1 from Myer!

I've charged mine for the requisite 24 hours and am ready to use it now! We will have to compare notes to see how we're going. :)

  6. Hmm, I could've sworn I left you a comment here but I can't find it now! :S

I wanted to say, great minds think alike! I bought my Clarisonic Mia 2 from the US two weeks ago and received it a couple of days ago. Charged it up for 24 hours and finally used it last night, it was such fun! I really did enjoy it and the doing the nose is an interesting experience, isn't it not? :)

  7. Hey Ingy,
The Clarisonic is grewat, but Zoe recommends that you only use it once a day (at night) so you're not stripping your skin. Just a thought!
    Love your work!

I am really liking it too and really look forward to all the benefits of the investment. My skin is purging a bit but is for sure much softer and nicer.

  9. Its something that at first I thought I wanted but put it down to the hype. I may end up investing but I'll wait a little longer first. Thats great that you had the voucher and tip to put towards it, so at leats didn't seem like a huge outgoing! Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it!

    1. Yes I agree, it took a while for me to get onto it but now I am happy I did. I ended up paying $59 so it was totally worth it:) X
