The Weekend Review: Mollymook

On Saturday morning I had a brow appointment with Lien, and my brows really needed a good tidy up. It was great to have them done again and my face feels well-framed at last. Afterwards I went to a cafe and had breakfast. I had a cappucino, a youghurt/fruit/granola cup and read the paper. It was pure bliss to have a day off after a very hectic week.
The arm party is still going strong and I was feeling true blue on Saturday. The peacock is from Norway, the wooden bracelet is from Shabby Sisters and I can't remember where gem stones are from.
That afternoon we were headed to Mollymook to time an ocean swim on Sunday morning so we had to stop by Gus to pick up some gear. I didn't mind at all, I love seeing him although he is pretty crazy.
Mollymook is located on the south coast of NSW and it took about three hours to drive there. When we arrived it was dark so we couldn't check out the view so we went straight to the motel. The room was huge and we even had a jacuzzi. After dinner at the local golf club, Mike had to do some work and I managed to fall asleep so we didn't end up using the spa. Such a shame but I was just too tired. After all we shouldn't be too surprised since I managed to fall asleep on New Years Eve before 9pm.
The next morning we woke up to the most amazing sunrise. This was our office for the day and the weather couldn't have been better. In terms of preparation we had to set up a timing mat, run a cable from the finish line to the surf club and enter new participants into the data base.
It was great to have my feet in the sand again. The sand felt like velvet and I have re-descovered the joy of not wearing shoes.
The morning was really busy but everything went well. The swimmers had a great time and everyone finished the race. The 500m race was done first and then there was the 2km race. Below is right after the start-gun went off and over 200 people have jumped into the water wearing yellow swim caps.
We finished by 1pm and were on the road again. When we got home we had a quick shower and got ready to go out for dinner with two of our friends. The Sunday night arm party featured a bracelet from Cubus, Shabby Sisters and Forever New. It was a great evening.
I also managed to skip the Logies, the Voice and Dancing With the Stars on TV because when there is too much choice, I just decline it all and take a step back. In stead I played the meditation app for Mike and we fell asleep instantly. He texted me on Monday morning saying he hadn't slept so well in months so I now have proof it really works.

How was your weekend?
