2.2.12

It's Fituary time!

In line with my New Years Resolution, February is going to be my Fituary month. I am training for a half-marathon in May and initially I wanted to try and work out every day in February but what I have realised is that it is too ambitious so I will settle for 5-6 days a week which is still plenty. I will either be running outside or when the weather is bad (like it is now) I have both zumba and wii fit on my Nintendo wii so no excuses. Hopefully I will find a rainbow or two like I did in January.
Always chasing rainbows to find the pot of gold.
Yesterday was the 1st of February and I was going to go for a run after work, but I decided to go grocery shopping first and was excited that everything fit in one bag. The bag was a little heavy but I put it on my shoulder (and I was wearing a suit jacket with small shoulder pads) and thought it was fine. Imagine my suprise when I saw these marks on my shoulder. It doesn't hurt but my vanity has taken a hit and a day later the marks are still there. All I could do last night was to apply body lotion on my shoulder every 15 minutes and relax on the couch.
According to my boyfriend it looked like I had been mauled by a tiger which I agree is quite the overstatement but it really is not a good look.

I will resume Fituary again today and am really excited about it, I just need a power nap first.

Will you be doing Fituary this month? Have you ever gotten marks like I did? Any advice is much appreciated.

xx

  1. Oh, that looks painful! :(

I hope it gets better soon, I know there's nothing worse for the old self-esteem than going out painted in marks!

Maybe you should start telling people you were mauled by a tiger...makes for an interesting story. ;)

  2. That looks really bad! It sounds like it's not going to set you back too much though....keep at it. What other exercise do you have planned? I'm not g=doing Fituary, but I am doing Feb-Fast AND Michelle Bridge's 12WBT - to get really fit. Can;t wait - LOVE exercising! Good on you for the half-marathin effort...that's awesome!

  3. Sadly it is just my vanity that is hurt, I am actually thankful the weather is bad so that I can cover up... :)

12WBT sounds great Alison, you need to let me know how you go. I can't do Feb-Fast because I love my wine too much but my boyfriend is doing Ironman in Melbourne in March so he is not drinking at the moment, and I might not drink in March with him. xx
